Dear Fellow Members,

Please find enclosed notification of the 2008 Annual General Meeting schedule for February 24th, 2008 at Nuggett Court, Brampton at 10:30AM.

You will also find attached an information circular relating to your ATT renewals and the process you must follow. Please review carefully as it it your responsibility to ensure your paperwork is in order.

This year is a very important year in the history of PCGFPA as we embark on the exciting venture of building your new range! The proposed facility should ensure many years of continuous excellence in the shooting sports.

Plans will be available for viewing prior to the start of the AGM. Members of Maple-Reinders design team will be on hand to answer questions, so please come early and remember that the plans compiled so far are the "first run/basic design" which could be subject to change as input and pricing is received.

We are hoping that Mr. Tony Bernardo from CILA will be our guest to give you an update on the state of the sport and what CILA has achieved on your behalf.

We hope you can make an effort to attend this historic occasion in the existence of your club.

Membership cards for 2008 will be available for pick up when you register.

From the Board of Directors of PCGFPA

HELP WANTED

QUALIFIED DIRECTORS FOR YOUR ASSOCIATION

Several current members of the Board of Directors have declared their intent to step down for 2008.

As a result, we seek qualified people willing to help in many of the projects the board wants to initiate over the next year.

PCGFPA is evolving from a small club that operated on a limited basis to one that, over the next few years, will grow dramatically. Construction of the new indoor range at 107 Nuggett Court will soon commence. An outdoor range for archery, rifle, trap, and black powder will be next.

We need people interested in making an investment of their time in building the club for the future.

Anyone with some organizational, engineering, and/or administrative skills willing to join the board and assist in projects will be greatly welcomed.

To be eligible to become a Director, a person must have been a paid up member in good standing for a minimum of one year.

If you are interested in becoming a Director and helping in these projects, please call:

Graydon Rodgers - Nominating Committee Chairman

at 905-897-8901 or 416-444-7979,
or email at g.rodgers@sympatico.ca
or contact any other director.

DEDICATED TO EXCELLENCE IN THE SHOOTING SPORTS

Fall/Winter 2007

Dear Member,

Your Board of Directors are pleased to report some good news on your new range project.

Early this year a "building committee" was formed and originally chaired by director/member Laurence Polley, now Richard Simpson with John Stigge, Fritze Steel, Tom Novak, Bob Calvert and Gus Steinhauser participating.

After a number of meetings Lawrence had inspired the committee and produced a plan of action which would provide guidance on the processes needed to advance the project. There was quite a long wait caused, in part, by the restructuring of the CPFO's office and transfer of personnel.

The good news is that with some influence by Richard Simpson and the cooperation of the CPFO we received a letter from the CPFO's office on October 24th authorizing the Club to go to the next stage.

Your committee members are meeting and corresponding with interested contractors to receive proposals for supply and construction of the new facilities - the end result will be a complete new range with the building modified in accordance with current regulations.

Our arrangement with "Six-Points" providing Peel with a temporary "home range" has been renewed by the "Six-Points" board. We thank them for their cooperation in providing our current members access to the facilities and permitting the continuance of our Club.Remember to carry your identification (membership card) and as always follow the requirement of carrying correct, up to date/current paperwork such as license and ATT's - also please sign into the Peel membership log at the range. The club is located at 605 Royal York Road - east side of Royal York, north of Queensway and east of 427, next to a fire station and is available on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 11:00PM.

As reported to you previously all of the deals for the saleable lands at Heart Lake Road have closed leaving sufficient funds available in the coffers for construction to commence. The Club has hired the firm of Maple Reinders Constructors Ltd. to manage the planning and construction of our new range. Major updates at the AGM.

Part of the Heart Lake property still remains in the ownership of P.C.G.F.P.A. This piece of property is primarily the "swamp" area which has been identified as 'contaminated' and remains the cause of a current law suit against the association and it's directors. Your association has spent considerable funds on consultants and soils investigations with the hope that a suitable solution to the issue(s) can be found and the land (swamp) utilized for some useful purpose.Work is ongoing.

As the year comes to a close we have to think about renewing our memberships and our commitment to see our range project completed.

Your Board has discussed the renewal fee structure in great detail with every member of the Board agreeing that to continue asking our members to renew while being unable to provide a Brampton range is becoming tedious!

However that is exactly what we have to do!! In recognition of this your Board has authorized a one time discount on this year fees.

The building upkeep, property taxes, insurance and utilities still all have to be budgeted and paid for and that funding should be catered for by membership dues. Please take a moment to complete your renewal form and update all information.

Thank you.
